KPMRC and Studio 21UP in collaboration with J-Yoga College of Japan brought together a unique awareness program on fitness and well-being for special children & families on 1st Septembe2018
The event was held at the Mathias Memorial Hall, Association for Mentally Challenged, Bangalore.
Over 50 participants, special children and adults, parents and care givers including Indian yoga practitioners attended the event.
Dr. Venkateshwariah, President of KPMRC welcomed the gathering with a key note address from Mr. JP Gadgari, Hon. General Secretary. Mr. xxxxxxx delivered the vote of thanks.
Participants were trained on Japanese Yoga techniques and stretches. The 2 hours session also included a simple demonstration of postures that can be practiced daily for special children/adults by Karishma Kannan and Kalpana Kannan of Studio 21Up.
Mr. Yamauchi also demonstrated one-on-one yoga and stretching exercises to some of the participants.
Mr. Yamauchi donated to KPMRC and to AMC a set of 10 volumes of Japanese yoga video’s and a practitioner’s book for their library. This video and book are practical lessons in yoga and easy to understand with English subtitles. An easy to use flier with the yoga poses used during the training was also distributed to all participants.
The participants, enjoyed the session and appreciated the efforts of Studio 21Up and KPMRC.

His J-Yoga is very popular in Japan and other countries for their fitness program in a fun-way method for children to enjoy and participate with the aim to provide holistic development of their mind and body.
Studio 21UP based in Yelahanka, Bangalore, is an initiative to provideactive recreation and physical well-being for persons with Downs Syndrome. Studio 21 UP has programs for fitness, dance, art, recreation and independent living skills.
